Brand Story
Founded by the pair behind the popular brand, Cottage Springs, the concept of WakeWater came to life in our own office. As young professionals in the start-up space, we were looking for an alternative to coffee and traditional energy drinks. We knew we needed that little boost of energy to get us through the day, but did not want to compromise with an unhealthy alternative that left us crashing. Looking around at what was available, we were underwhelmed with our options as they all contained the ingredients that we didn’t want to put in our body. As a local Toronto company that specializes in better-for-you beverages, we knew that our team could create a liquid that was refreshing, clean and didn’t cause us to crash.
At first, WakeWater was created solely for the purpose of providing our employees with an alternative source of caffeine, in a format that blended well with our on the go lifestyles. We knew we loved WakeWater, because, well, we made it, but after a few months, we began bringing WakeWater to meetings and events. The more people tried it, the more positive feedback we received. Suddenly, it clicked. It was time to bring WakeWater out of our small Downtown Toronto office and share it with Canadians.
